Your Data, Exports, and What Happens If You Cancel
3 min read · Updated July 6, 2026
GardenDraft's policy is simple: your data is yours, and canceling never locks it up. Current plans and pricing are on the pricing page.
Free vs. Grower
GardenDraft has a free account with no credit card and no trial countdown. It includes one garden with up to 3 beds, using the same planning tools as paid gardens: frost-aware scheduling, companion hints, the 3D view, succession planting, crop rotation, reminders, the journal, harvest log, seed inventory, and PDF exports.
Grower ($4.99/month or $29.99/year) lifts the capacity caps to unlimited gardens and unlimited beds. That's the only difference — there are no Grower-only features. Upgrade when you want to plan more than one garden (a front yard and a back plot, a community plot, or next year's plan alongside this one) or more than three beds in a garden. Manage your plan under Settings → Billing.
If you cancel
Editing pauses at the end of your paid period. The records stay available:
- Viewing your garden plans, journal entries, photos, and harvest history.
- Exporting — the Garden Book PDF and calendar feeds keep working.
Resubscribe any time and editing picks up where you left off. Manage or cancel your subscription under Settings → Billing, which opens the Stripe billing portal.
Getting your data out
- Garden Book — a per-year PDF of your beds (with diagrams), weekly schedule, and plant reference. Open the Garden Book tab in the logbook and click Download PDF.
- Calendar feed — each garden has an iCalendar URL you can subscribe to from Google Calendar or Apple Calendar; sow, transplant, and harvest dates appear as events. If a feed URL leaks, rotate it under Settings → Calendar subscription (this invalidates all old URLs).
Deleting your account
Settings → Danger zone permanently deletes your account and all data — gardens, plantings, journal, everything. You'll type DELETE to confirm. This is immediate and can't be undone, so export your Garden Book first if you want a keepsake.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a free version of GardenDraft?
- Yes. A free account needs no credit card and includes one garden with up to 3 beds. The same planning tools work on that garden. Grower ($4.99/month or $29.99/year) lifts the caps to unlimited gardens and beds.
- Do I lose my garden plans if I cancel GardenDraft?
- No. Canceling pauses editing at the end of your paid period, but viewing your plans, photos, journal, and harvest history — and exporting them — stays available. Resubscribe any time to edit again.
- How do I export my GardenDraft data?
- Two built-in exports: the Garden Book — a per-year PDF of your beds, schedule, and plant reference — and a per-garden iCalendar feed you can subscribe to from Google Calendar or Apple Calendar.
