How to Copy a Bed and Everything In It

3 min read · Updated July 6, 2026

Built a bed layout you like? Duplicate the whole thing — plants included — instead of rebuilding it.

Copy and paste a bed

  1. Switch to the Layout tab and select the bed.
  2. Press Ctrl/⌘+C to copy the bed and every plant in it.
  3. Press Ctrl/⌘+V to paste.

Where the copy lands

  • If your cursor is over the plan, the copy is centered under the cursor (kept inside the garden).
  • Otherwise it lands a foot down-and-right of the original — or, if that doesn't fit, next to your existing beds.

Plants keep their exact positions within the new bed.

What doesn't carry over

Succession-planting chains aren't copied — the new bed's plantings start fresh, so set up successions on the copy if you need them.

Removing a bed

Select a bed on the Layout tab and press Delete or Backspace. This removes the bed and its plants. GardenDraft asks you to confirm first, because bed deletion can't be undone.
